GlucoGold FAQ: 44 Buyer Questions Answered

This page answers 44 common GlucoGold questions in six groups.

The groups cover the product, taking it, safety and interactions, buying and shipping, returns, and the company. Every answer comes from the printed label or the seller's own material.

Start with the ingredients.

Quick answer

This page answers the questions buyers ask about GlucoGold Advanced, grouped into the product itself, taking it, safety and interactions, buying and shipping, returns and the guarantee, and the company behind it. Every answer comes from the printed label or from the seller's own published material. Where nothing was published, the answer says not published rather than estimating.

The product itself

What is GlucoGold?

GlucoGold Advanced is a dietary supplement sold as coated tablets, 90 to a bottle. One serving is three tablets and a bottle holds 30 servings, so one bottle is one month.

What exactly is in GlucoGold?

Six active ingredients, each with a printed amount: chromium as chromium polynicotinate 200 mcg, berberine hydrochloride 1,000 mg, oleoylethanolamide 250 mg, white mulberry leaf extract 100 mg, cinnamon cassia bark extract 75 mg and banaba leaf extract 48 mg.

Does GlucoGold use a proprietary blend?

No, and that is worth saying loudly. Every active carries its own number, so you can check every dose against the research yourself.

How much berberine is in GlucoGold?

1,000 mg per three-tablet serving, as berberine hydrochloride from a Berberis aristata bark and root extract sold under the BerberPure name. That is the largest single amount on the panel by a wide margin.

What is OEA?

Oleoylethanolamide, a fat the small intestine makes after a meal that acts as a fullness signal. There is 250 mg per serving, and a 2025 meta-analysis found doses at or above 250 mg did more for weight and glucose measures.

Why does the chromium say 571% of the Daily Value?

Because the Daily Value for chromium is 35 mcg and this serving carries 200 mcg. A large percentage here reflects a small reference figure, not an extreme dose. 200 mcg is a common amount in chromium research.

How big are the tablets?

0.75 inches long by 0.312 inches wide, published by the brand as a size chart against a one cent coin. Three go down at once, so it is worth knowing before you buy.

Why do the tablets vary in colour?

The label says so directly: due to the nature of these ingredients, colour variation may occur. Plant extracts differ batch to batch. It is not a fault.

Taking it

How do I take GlucoGold?

The label reads: take three (3) tablets once daily, before a meal. All three together, before one meal, once a day.

Can I split the three tablets across the day?

The label does not say to. It says three once daily before a meal, and we print what the label prints. If a gram in one sitting unsettles your stomach, that is a question for a pharmacist rather than a change to make on our say-so.

Which meal should I take it before?

Not specified. The label says before a meal and names no time of day. Pick one you never skip, because a fixed meal is what makes a 30-serving bottle last 30 days.

Before or with food?

Before a meal, according to the label. Several ingredients here, mulberry in particular, work on how a meal is digested, which is why the timing is part of the instruction.

What if I miss a day?

Take the next serving at your usual meal. Do not double up to catch up.

How long does GlucoGold take to work?

No trial has tested this finished formula, so there is no clinical answer. In the reviews the seller supplied, three to four weeks was the window most buyers named, and almost nobody reported anything in the first week.

Do I have to keep taking it?

Nothing on the label sets a course length or a minimum. It is a daily supplement, not a course of treatment.

How should I store it?

The label asks for room temperature and humidity, which it defines as 59 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit and around 40% relative humidity. A cupboard, not a bathroom cabinet.

Safety and interactions

Is GlucoGold safe?

The label's own precaution is the place to start: consult your health care practitioner before use if you have a medical condition or use any medications, and stop two weeks before surgery. With a gram of berberine per serving that sentence is doing real work.

Does GlucoGold have side effects?

None are listed on the label. Berberine's reported effects in research are gastrointestinal: nausea, abdominal pain, bloating, constipation or diarrhoea, per the NCCIH. A full gram in one sitting is the version most likely to produce them.

Can GlucoGold affect my medication?

It can. The NCCIH names an interaction between berberine and cyclosporine, and berberine is studied for effects on the liver enzymes that clear many drugs. Chromium, cinnamon, mulberry and banaba all act in blood sugar territory, which matters alongside any diabetes medication. Take the panel to your pharmacist.

I take metformin or insulin. Can I take this?

That is a question for the person who prescribed it, before you buy rather than after. Every ingredient on this panel works in the same area as your medication. The NCCIH is direct: do not replace medical treatment for diabetes with an unproven product.

Can I take GlucoGold while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. The NCCIH states that berberine exposure has been linked to a harmful buildup of bilirubin in infants, that it is likely unsafe for infants, and that it may be unsafe during pregnancy or breastfeeding. This is the clearest no on the site.

Is the cinnamon a problem?

Cassia cinnamon carries coumarin, a liver concern in quantity. Germany's risk assessment institute puts the tolerable daily intake at 0.1 mg per kilo of bodyweight and cassia bark at roughly 3,000 mg of coumarin per kilo. At 75 mg of extract the contribution is small, and worth mentioning if you already watch your liver numbers.

Should I stop before surgery?

Yes. The label says discontinue use two weeks prior to surgery, and to tell your surgical team what you have been taking.

Who should not take GlucoGold?

Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, and infants and children. Anyone with a medical condition or on medication who has not spoken to a practitioner first. Anyone within two weeks of planned surgery.

Could it push my blood sugar too low?

On its own that is unlikely in someone with blood sugar already in the normal range, which is who the listing describes. Alongside a diabetes medication it is a real question and the reason the label asks you to speak to a practitioner first.

Buying and shipping

How much does GlucoGold cost?

About $69.99 for one bottle when we checked the listing. No pack prices and no regular price were published to us, so this site prints none. The price you pay is the one at checkout.

Are there multi-bottle packs?

The review summary we were given names two, three and six bottle packs, and six was the pack most buyers chose. No price for any of them was published to us.

What does that work out to per day?

One bottle is 30 servings, so about $69.99 works out at roughly $2.33 a day. If multi-bottle pricing exists it will be lower, and we cannot tell you by how much.

Where do I buy GlucoGold?

Through this site. Glucogolds is a USA Authorized GlucoGold Retailer and the buy buttons hand you to the official listing.

Why does the order page go to Amazon?

Because that is the official listing we were pointed at. It means Amazon's checkout, Amazon's delivery and Amazon's return window rather than a separate seller guarantee, and that is a real trade-off we would rather state than bury.

Is there a subscription?

Nothing in the material we were given mentions one. If the listing offers a subscribe option at checkout, that is the marketplace's, not the seller's.

How much is shipping?

Not published. Orders ship from the United States and tracking arrives in the order email.

Will I get tracking?

Yes, in the order email. Keep that email: the order ID inside it is what any query needs.

Returns and the guarantee

Does GlucoGold have a money-back guarantee?

Not one published by the seller. The return route we can confirm is the Amazon window on the listing. The label does carry an unconditional guarantee of purity and labeled potency, which is a promise about what is in the bottle rather than a refund window.

How do I return it?

Call the order desk on +1 (302) 200-3480 with your order ID, or start the return through the listing you bought from. Returns go to 1 Astor Place, Floor 8, New York, NY 10003.

How long does a refund take?

The seller states 3 to 5 business days to issue the credit once the return is received, then a further 5 to 10 days for a card to show it.

Who pays return shipping?

You do, and a tracked service is advised so the parcel can be traced.

What does unconditionally guaranteed mean on the label?

It is the manufacturer's promise that the bottle contains what the panel says, at the potency printed, and nothing else. It is a quality claim. It is not a promise that the product will do anything for you, and it is not a refund window.

The company behind it

Who sells GlucoGold on this site?

Glucogolds, a USA Authorized GlucoGold Retailer, from 650 Fifth Avenue, Floor 10, New York, NY 10019. Returns go to a different address, 1 Astor Place, Floor 8, New York, NY 10003.

Who makes GlucoGold?

The label prints: distributed by Healthy Directions, Bethesda, MD 20817. BerberPure is a registered trademark of Healthy Directions.

Who are the doctors in Doctors' Preferred?

We do not know, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The name appears on the front of the bottle, the doctor-formulated seal appears on the quality panel, and no clinician is named anywhere in the material supplied to us.

Is GlucoGold FDA approved?

No supplement is. The FDA states it does not have the authority to approve dietary supplements before they are marketed. The FDA-registered facility seal describes the factory, not the product.

How do I check I have a genuine bottle?

This stock is lot GLU-26/GL-4516 with certificate reference GLU-4516-26-GL. The lot and the best-before print on the base of the bottle.

Does this site make money if I buy?

Yes. Glucogolds is an authorized retailer and earns on orders placed through this site. That is exactly why the berberine timing question, the missing price and the weak return route are all printed here at full size.

Still have a GlucoGold question?

For anything about an order, call the desk on +1 (302) 200-3480. Have your order ID ready and it will take a minute rather than an email exchange. One of the reviews the seller supplied is three words long: desk answered.

For anything about this website, email [email protected]. The desk answers Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern.

If the question is medical, we will say we cannot answer it and point you at your prescriber. That is the only useful answer, because whether this is safe alongside what you already take depends on what you already take.

If you spot something wrong here, tell us. A correction moves the last-updated date forward.
